Loving Shade: A Rainbow of Tile

You can find inspiration for bathrooms and kitchens decked out in plain tile that is black or white. Consider how many times you’ve seen black and white penny tiles in baths and the traditional white subway tile in kitchens. But what about the adventuresome homeowners that want to see their tile? Here is a starting point: follow tile ideas’ rainbow.

If I had to give this tile a shade, it would be sunset red. It is really a vibrant color of red with hints of orange. I love the faucet is mounted at the wall in this toilet — your eye immediately goes to this mosaic wall that is red.

Suggestion: If you are choosing a bold, bright color for your tile, consider using it as an accent wall. Four walls of a strong color, such as these mosaic red tiles, can overwhelm a space.

This red is more my speed. I like the idea of using a stripe of color as an accent in the bathroom. The stripe brings personal style to a toilet.

The red tile backsplash in this gourmet kitchen is sure to inspire everyday fiestas. It’s fun how the tile matches the oven knobs.

I would call this tile more of a gold curry yellow. The sophisticated colour works well with the dark wood mirror and dressing table. The color can be referenced at the stripe of little mosaic tiles on the wall.

This accent wall of green tile helps make this toilet appear larger. It is a pretty shade of green that works with all the upgraded, modern finishes.

This stunning green tile feels so luxe. The tile immediately causes this bathroom feel like a fancy spa. The bathroom accessories tie from the green shade.

The green subway tile adds a quiet color that suits a kitchen.

Hint: Greens and reds are often utilized in kitchens because they’re a natural match. The colours pull from foods we often use in the kitchen — so green obviously feels more appetizing and fresh.

This green tile resembles green milk glass to me. It is so pretty! I really like the blend of the green with crisp whites — such as that very simple vessel sink using the wall-mounted faucet.

This sea color of blue adds a spa-like tranquility to the toilet. Using blue on one wall draws your eye to the back of the linear space.

Purple is a color you do not see everyday. Everything is stainless, neutral and white. The cool shade of purple feels similar to the coolness of stainless steel. The mix feels very modern and surprising.

This pink tile has as much personality as the other elements of the bathroom. Everything looks one-of-a-kind and personalized to your space, from the boat sink mounted at the classic dresser to the fanciful mirror.
