Dreaming in Color: 8 Enchanting Purple Bedrooms

Purported to be a relaxing color, purple is an excellent color choice for a bedroom. Darker, cooler purples may sense a bit heavy in a place, so that they will need to be offset with a fantastic number of natural or artificial light. You can warm up cooler purple colors with a healthy dose of light to medium wood tones. Hotter raspberry hues pair nicely with cool neutrals like grey, or metallic accents like stainless steel or brushed nickel.

I’ve pulled together eight pulling purple bedrooms out of , along with my favourite purple paint colours that you may try in your own bedroom.

MANI & Co

This is my favourite shade of purple — a darker variant that has a fantastic quantity of cooling gray and blue. It’s easy to pull off an intense shade of purple once you have such a wonderful space filled with natural light and warm wood tones. If your bedroom is still lacking ample windows, you can still utilize a similar purple hue, but perhaps restrict it to a small accent wall or a portion of a wall so that your room does not become cavelike.

Window Works

Here is another deep purple color; this one is a bit on the other hand, with some red in it. This shade looks brilliant paired with dark wood tones and pale, warm neutral colors.

Obviously, the majority of us do not have large floor-to-ceiling windows in our bedrooms to bring in natural lighting that offsets large swaths of bold wall color. Here is a good example of how you can inject a subtler dose of purple. This is a superb way to present a fun color in your bedroom even if your area lacks ample light.

Another choice is to draw bold purple colors into your bedroom via textiles, and pick a lighter lavender colour for those walls. You’ll find a great hint of soothing color in your bedroom that relates to the bolder colors in the accessories.

Visbeen Architects

This bedroom exudes glamour using its mix of purple colors and reflective surfaces and materials. The majority of the palette is in fact rather neutral and light, but with its mix of colours and textures, the distance is eye catching while still feeling restful.

If you prefer a plethora of cool purple in your bedroom, try pairing it with light, hot neutrals for some contrast. It helps break up the color for visual balance.

For those with an expansive bedroom area, lucky you! However, it can be complicated working a bold color into a large, open area. The color can all too easily become overwhelming and heavy. Rather than putting the bold color on each one your walls, pick a few of your favourite purple colors and find bedding and other ornamental accessories in those colours. You’ll find a nice smattering of color throughout the room without having to stress about where to start and stop bold paint color on the walls.

Here is another instance of taking a neutral and light space and incorporating drama via purple furnishings. And if your like purple wane, it’s possible to easily replace some of the textiles and accessories without breaking the bank.
