13 Spectacular Exterior Paint Makeovers by ers

Oh, ers, you are the best. I requested you to share your dramatic paint makeovers, and also the last time I checked you had left over 150 comments plus before and after shots. From Victorian gingerbread houses to midcentury modern gems, new paint colors make a house look new. Watch what fellow ers have accomplished with paint on the exteriors of their homes.

BEFORE: uservita76’s 1910 Victorian is full of charm but was looking somewhat tired.

AFTER:A lovely periwinkle blue and also a small landscape cleanup series off the porch.

“This is Benjamin Moore paint,” vita76 says. “The white trimming is White Dove, the black trimming is Eclipse the door is Eggplant and the main body colour is a mixture of two colors; one is Solitude, and another I don’t remember.”

BEFORE: user summilux and his wife substituted these present colors to let the house sit in its own landscape of trees and lawn.

AFTER:The main colour is Sherwin-Williams’ Bunglehouse Gray. The trims are Valspar’s Belmont Green and Spanish Tile. Summilux plans to replace the white vinyl windows next summer as the next phase of this makeover.

BEFORE: user nnicolaisen’s house was a faded, sun-damaged sage green with a burgundy door.

AFTER:Benjamin Moore’s Black Forest Green shingles and Split Pea trim, topped off with Ravishing Red on the door, give the house an entirely new look, which is also inspiring improvements around the yard. “We love the dark background that highlights the landscaping, and will likely be adding more crops in the near future,” nnicolaisen says.

BEFORE:Small pink houses aren’t for everyone.

AFTER: “Our house in Arizona went from pink to Dunn-Edwards’ Bison Beige with trimming in Dry Creek,” states user jangnagey.

BEFORE:Tricia Oren described this colour as “boring gray.”

AFTER: The brand new colour, Sherwin-Williams’ Messenger Bag, provides the facade a more cohesive look that highlights the lovely trim detailing and porch.

BEFORE:“We’ve shifted our house in 2 phases over the years; we began with pink trimming, painted it white and added black wood shutters that we made, then we shifted out the lighting,” states user sallyloveofhomes.

AFTER:“A couple of years later we painted the principal part of the house another color. It looks like a totally different house from when we moved in. It is astonishing what paint can do!” She states. The brand new jacket is a liquid vinyl paint by Kwal Paint, and the colour is Wicket.

BEFORE:“After adding on a porch and a few additional architectural details to this house, we added some bold colors to restore the Victorian flair,” state the pros in Kustom Home Design.

AFTER:The colors painting this woman are from Sherwin-Williams, such as Muslin, Outer Banks, Craft Paper, Olive Grove and Smoky Topaz.

BEFORE: “Painting our 1965 dark and light green house at Santa Barbara, California, was on our mailing checklist once we purchased it,” states user zukor.

AFTER:“Five years later we chose Pratt & Lambert Durango 33-24 and could not be happier,” zukor says. “We also attached a wood feature to the front part of the house to break up the box a little. The neighbors say they have to double-take to make certain it’s the exact same property!”

BEFORE:Tina Penelope is in the middle of giving every part of her exterior a refresh.

AFTER:The brand new paint colors are by Sico: Grey Pepper is the principal colour, the mild accent color is Breton Salt, and also the dark accent is Black Pepper. The window frames are a stock white.

AFTER: This is a successful experiment in mixing colors. “The house is four colors; each of the brownish tones were custom mixed by adding white to the main house color (also a customized mix — literally many cans mixed together), and the terra-cotta is a Behr colour from Home Depot,” she states.

BEFORE:Smaller paint makeover details can make a big impact. user Victoria, who has the best profile picture I have seen in quite a while, by the way, is restoring an 1890 Victorian house with her husband. “The previous owners were mad for colour! Every single room was a different main colour,” she states.

AFTER:They toned down the glowing purple front doors and a glowing orange porch roof to give the house back a few of its original glory.
